The Meninas Of Canido was born out of the need to create a new neighborhood full of hope over ruin and abandonment using art as a tool.
In 2008, the artist Eduardo Hermida began an artistic intervention that has gone around the world and has become a benchmark in urban art internationally.
Today Canido is a neighborhood full of life ans its “Meninas” an open-air art gallery that attracts thousands of people every first weekend in September during its annual festival and transforms the neighborhood in a unique way into a colorful space in which Hundreds of artists have left their work. A tourist and cultural attraction that is a must-see if you are in Ferrol.
