In the morning

  • Visit one of the naval museums of Ferrol: Shipbuilding Museum (Exponav) or the Naval Museum
  • A Magdalena neighborhood: A neighborhood declared a Historic-artistic site with a rationalist layout of the Ferrol from the Enlightenment (included in Ferrol’s candidacy for World Heritage). The origin of the typical Galician-style houses with galleries. You can also find here most of the buildings of the Modernism route and it is also a commercial area.
  • Viewpoint of the Herrera Gardens: In this environment we can find the San Francisco Church, the Navy Captaincy Palace and enjoy a panoramic view of the Military Arsenal- an asset of cultural Interest
  • Curuxeiras Port: Beginning of the English Way in Ferrol and also to San Andrés de Teixido. A good place to stroll and have tapas while enjoying the terraces. Another very close option is San Francisco street where some quality restaurants are located or the Parador de Ferrol itself, next to the Herrera Gardens. Do not leave the port without visiting the Bulwark of San Juan to contemplate the estuary and the port. In the afternoon

  • San Felipe Castle (private vehicle required): It is declared an Asset of Cultural Interest. It was part of the defense by sea of the estuary, next to La Palma Castle located opposite together with another castle now in ruins. To access the castle, you have to go around the estuary passing through the quaint neighborhoods of A Graña and San Felipe.
  • Doniños beach (private vehicle required or make one of the Taxi Routes). It is a wide beach with fine white sand. It has a Blue Flag and is one of the favorite places for surf lovers. It is a protected environment where both the Penencia and Outeiro sandbanks and the Doniños Lagoon stand out.
  • Discover more beaches on the coast of Ferrol with protected landscape of the Ártabra Coast, such as San Jorge, Esmelle or the wildest of Santa Comba or Ponzos.
  • Route of Las Meninas de Canido Back in the city of Ferrol, you will visit Canido where the project of “Las Meninas” has filled its streets with art turning this place into an authentic outdoor museum. It is a national and international street-art reference (European Cultural Itinerary).
