SICTED is a project to improve the quality of tourist destinations that works with tourist companies/services from up to 32 different jobs. Its ultimate goal is to improve the experience and satisfaction of tourists.
The project is promoted by the Secretary of State for Tourism and has the support of the Spanish Federation of Councils and Provinces. It pursues a homogeneous level of quality in the services offered to tourists within the same destination and has its own methodology that includes, among other tools, manuals of good practices for each tourist industry and provides individualized advice to participating companies.
In Ferrol, the SICTED has been carried out in 2022 in collaboration with the Provincial Council of A Coruña, which has financed 80% of the project, through a grant for the Improvement of the Quality of Tourist Destinations.
This quality management system has been implemented in the province of A Coruña only in Ferrol and Santiago de Compostela, so far. Ferrol has worked at SICTED since 2012 and currently has 36 companies/servicies that have received quality badges.
