Thousands of devotees go up the hill on their knees or walk to the Chamorro Virgin’s sanctuary. They follow the Via Crucis’ stations to venerate the Chamorro Virgin, also known as the Nordés Virgin. This name of marine evocation makes reference to the best wind to fish in the Ferrol’s estuary and also the fact that the hermitage is located in the northeast of the city.
The pilgrims offer the Virgin candles and vows. People share a country day with popular music and food. From this sanctuary, you have a very good view of the city and the Ferrol’s estuary.
