Declared of International Tourist Interest in 2014, the Ferrol’s Holy Week dates back to the eighteenth century and it is the main festivtiry of the city and the most spectacular Holy Week in Galicia.

In 9 days it brings together more than twenty processions, liturgical acts of the brotherhoods, exhibitions and cultural events. 3000 memebers participate in the processions and the city receives thousands of visitors and tourists.

Friday is the big day. It is worth noting the procession of Santo Encuentro (Holy Reunion) in Plaza de Armas. At night, the most silent procession – that of the “Caladiños”- is the most thrilling.

The Sociedad Mixta de Turismo de Ferrol organizes a complementary program of activities and guided visits to tourist resources of the area, in order to satisfy all tastes during the Easter holidays (more information at tourist offices).
